PayPal Subscriber/Subscription Integration and MORE!

Much has taken place over the last few weeks with Press Publisher.  Numerous feature requests have been added, and yet another WYSIYG text editor has been installed.

Start with the Text Editor. A few weeks ago, we installed an open source Text Editor that truly worked great in the latest and greatest browsers (Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox 2+).  However, and anything older, it was a disaster.  Rather than saying you must upgrade your browser, we just installed a new Text Editor and moved on.  The TinyMCE editor is without question the industry standard editor supplied/integrated with  with the highest end Content Management Systems (CMS).  So, we bought and installed it, now the world is turning again.

Subscriber Upgrades. At long last we have added the PayPal subscriber integration to the system.  This feature allows Press Publisher Users (Gold and Platinum Packages) to set a price for subscribers to their website.  You can set either a Monthly or Yearly price.  What the user will need is a “Business PayPal” account.  The reason is website owner is taking payments.  When this is the case, PayPal needs to authenticate you, not to mention, so you can get the money you are taking in from your subscribers.

On the sbscriber side, there are a few notable additions.  Subscribers can manage thier subscription, profile, and password.  There is now a Password Recovery/Reset feature for subscribers (not to mention, we now have this for users of our CMS too!).  If you have set a price in the system for subscribers, they will have to subscribe with PayPal to view the “Private” Articles in your system.  However, if you have some private and some public Articles, they can subscribe without paying.  This will allow the subscriber to post comments.

Let’s talk Comments and Blogs. The comments and multi-user blogs are completed in our development site and now just need to be moved over to the live site.  What “Multi-User blogs” really mean is that you can have as many “Bloggers” as you want.  Each Blogger is set up as a “User” in your control panel.  You grant them “Blogger” Privilages and now they can log in to the CMS control panel and manage ONLY their own blog and comments :-)  Sweet!  Of course, the admin, can monitor and edit all the blogs on your system.  You can have as many Blogs/Bloggers set up in the system as you wish.  All with full comment integration.
